Biggar Little Festival - Artists Open Studio Strail
I have participated in the Artists Open Studio Trail ever since it started about 14/15 years ago. This year sadly because of the Covid19 virus situation it has had to be cancalled. Instead, Bigger Little Festival organisers are setting up a Virtual Exhibition . This is something new to us all and it will be intersting to see how things are going to work. It all kicks off in October so watch this space I'll be putting details on my blog when I have them.
Do you find that life gets in the way sometimes, It happens to me, things happen, problems need to be sorted and the blog page gets put to the background. Not to worry, I’m here now and I thought I would show you some doodles I’ve done over the years. It was when I visited Glasgow's Art Centre and saw these lovely note books by PaperBlanks. There was a choice of many beautiful covers and I chose the feline cats design by Laurel Burch. I keep it for doodling. It took me a long time to start using the book, I found it so lovely, to look at and to hold, I didn't want to spoil it! Here are a few of the pages I have done, nothing is precise, nothing special, just a doodle, sometimes with quotes and stories, sometimes an event that has happened in my life. Is this somethIng you might try? Is this something you already do? Let me know.
Make it a family heirloom or keep it hidden away and present it to the 'baby' on a special birthday.
Click on the Mini Album page and scroll down - you will see a video showing you the inside of a mini album.
16 July 2018
It's been a busy, busy time just recently and with the lovely summer weather we have been having I was quite keen to get out into the garden and get some jobs done.
But also I had a commission to paint a Yorkshire Terrier. Spencer was his name and he was just asking to be painted. Just look at that loving face.
I used a 16 x 16 inch canvas and water soluble oil paints. Spencer will be going to his forever home soon in the USA.
