I was born in London, raised in Essex and now living in the beautiful countryside of The Southern Uplands in Scotland.
My interest in painting began when I was a small child and while I am basically self taught, over the years I have attended many art work shops, tutorials and art courses under the guidance of professional artists. My latest art course was with The London Art School and I achieved a Distinction pass in the Pet Portrait Diloma course.
For my animal portraits I work from photographs and I use either oil paints on canvas or pastels on Pastelmat card. For my floral paintings I build them up, planning the layout with a light mark on the canvas or board then add blossom and leaves as I work. Abstracts can be fun, I use mainly acrylics for these and dab away with a sponge or stippling brush, stencils, old credit cards, sticks and other such items. I also paint on real feathers, such as turkey tail feathers - art pluminaire - usually animal portraits. These need careful handling and preparation before using a light touch with the brush.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my art work. Please contact me if you would like more details and availability of any of the paintings.
My interactive albums can be personalised and made for any occasion, and are an excellent way to display some of your favourite photographs and memorabilia. The photographs show some of my recent work, please contact me for more information and detailed photographs.
